Spooky Smoky Witches Brew Halloween Cocktail

Spooky Smoky Witches Brew Halloween Cocktail - featured image

A sophisticated, smoky, and tart Halloween cocktail made with mezcal, lime juice, and maple syrup. It comes together in under five minutes and offers a spooky, autumnal flavor profile without the fuss of complex bartending.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 oz Mezcal (preferably Joven)
  • 1 oz Fresh lime juice
  • 0.5 oz Pure maple syrup
  • Smoked salt (for rimming)
  • Ice (large cubes preferred)
  • Garnish: Dehydrated lime wheel or sprig of rosemary (optional)

Instructions

  1. Run a lime wedge around the rim of a rocks glass and dip it into smoked salt to coat.
  2. In a cocktail shaker, combine mezcal, fresh lime juice, and maple syrup without ice.
  3. Add ice cubes to the shaker, secure the lid, and shake vigorously for 10-15 seconds until cold.
  4. Strain the mixture into the prepared rocks glass over fresh ice.
  5. Garnish with a dehydrated lime wheel or rosemary sprig and serve immediately.

Notes

Use fresh lime juice for the best flavor. If the drink is too strong, add a splash of club soda. If too sour, add more maple syrup. Mezcal varies in smokiness, so adjust syrup to taste. For a non-alcoholic version, swap mezcal for a non-alcoholic smoky spirit or cold-brew coffee.
