A light and festive sparkling sangria combining red and white wines with fresh berries and sparkling water, perfect for summer parties and refreshing on hot days.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 bottle (750 ml) fruity, medium-bodied red wine (e.g., Merlot or Zinfandel)
  • 1 bottle (750 ml) crisp white wine (e.g., Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio)
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1 cup blueberries, fresh or frozen
  • ½ cup raspberries (optional)
  • 1 peach or nectarine, thinly sliced
  • 1 fresh lemon, thinly sliced
  • 1 fresh lime, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups chilled sparkling water
  • ¼ cup simple syrup (adjust to taste)
  • Ice cubes as needed

Instructions

  1. Wash and prepare the fruit: rinse strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and peaches under cold water. Hull and slice the strawberries, thinly slice the peach or nectarine, and slice the lemon and lime into thin rounds. Set aside.
  2. In a large pitcher, pour in the entire bottles of red and white wine (750 ml each). Gently stir to blend the flavors.
  3. Add the sliced strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, peach, lemon, and lime into the wine mixture. Stir gently to evenly distribute the fruit without bruising.
  4. Add ¼ cup of simple syrup (adjust sweetness to your liking). Stir well to combine.
  5. Cover the pitcher with plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours to let the fruit infuse the wine.
  6. Just before serving, add 2 cups (480 ml) of well-chilled sparkling water to the pitcher. Gently stir to mix without losing fizz.
  7. Serve over ice cubes in glasses, ensuring each glass has some colorful fruit for garnish.

Notes

Use ripe, fresh fruit for best flavor. Adjust sweetness with simple syrup to taste. Chill thoroughly for best infusion. Add sparkling water gently to preserve fizz. Serve over large ice cubes to minimize dilution. For non-alcoholic version, substitute wines with grape or fruit juices.
