A cozy and electric Halloween cocktail combining rich espresso, warm pumpkin spice, and a smooth vodka base, perfect for fall festivities.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 shots (about 2 ounces / 60 ml) freshly brewed espresso
  • 2 ounces (60 ml) smooth, neutral vodka
  • 2 tablespoons (30 grams) pure pumpkin puree
  • 1 teaspoon pumpkin spice blend (cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, cloves)
  • 1 ounce (30 ml) simple syrup (equal parts sugar and water)
  • 1 ounce (30 ml) Kahlua or coffee liqueur (optional but recommended)
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Cinnamon stick or ground cinnamon for garnish

Instructions

  1. Brew two shots (about 2 ounces / 60 ml) of fresh espresso and let cool slightly.
  2. Prepare simple syrup by dissolving equal parts sugar and hot water; let cool if not pre-made.
  3. In a cocktail shaker, combine vodka, Kahlua, pumpkin puree, pumpkin spice blend, simple syrup, vanilla extract, and espresso shots.
  4. Add ice cubes to the shaker to chill the mixture without diluting it too much.
  5. Shake vigorously for 20-30 seconds until cold, frothy, and well combined.
  6. Strain the cocktail through a fine mesh strainer into a chilled martini glass to remove pumpkin bits and ice shards.
  7. Garnish with a cinnamon stick or a light dusting of ground cinnamon and serve immediately.

Notes

Use fresh espresso for best flavor. Adjust simple syrup and vodka amounts to balance sweetness and strength. Chill glasses beforehand for a better experience. Strain well to avoid pumpkin pulp. Can substitute strong brewed coffee or cold brew if no espresso machine is available.
