This recipe delivers juicy, tender pork chops cooked in an air fryer with a sweet and tangy apple cider glaze. It’s quick, easy, and perfect for a cozy weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 bone-in or boneless pork chops, about 1-inch thick
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ cup apple cider
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
  2. Season both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.
  3. Drizzle with olive oil and rub it in evenly. Let rest for about 5 minutes.
  4. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine apple cider, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, and apple cider vinegar.
  5. Stir occasionally and bring to a gentle simmer. Let reduce until slightly thickened and syrupy, about 8-10 minutes.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in butter and fresh thyme. Set aside.
  7. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 3 minutes.
  8. Place pork chops in the air fryer basket in a single layer without overlapping.
  9. Cook for 10 minutes, then flip and cook for another 5-7 minutes.
  10. Brush the apple cider glaze generously on both sides during the last 2 minutes of cooking to caramelize slightly.
  11. Use a meat thermometer to check internal temperature; it should read 145°F (63°C).
  12. Remove pork chops from the air fryer and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Patting the pork chops dry before seasoning helps achieve a better sear. Use a meat thermometer to ensure perfect doneness at 145°F. Brush the glaze on during the last 2 minutes of cooking to prevent burning. Let the pork chops rest after cooking to keep them juicy. If glaze thickens too much, gently warm before brushing. Avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket.
