A quick and easy weeknight dinner featuring salmon fillets baked with a sweet and savory honey garlic glaze, finished with a rich lemon butter sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon fillets (about 6 ounces each)
  • 1 tablespoon neutral oil (olive or avocado oil)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced finely
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and place the rack in the upper-middle position.
  2. Pat salmon fillets dry with paper towels and season both sides lightly with salt and pepper.
  3. Place salmon on a parchment-lined rimmed baking sheet, leaving space between fillets.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, and rice vinegar until smooth.
  5. Brush the honey garlic mixture generously over the top of each salmon fillet.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until salmon flakes easily with a fork and is opaque throughout.
  7. While salmon bakes, melt butter in a small saucepan over low heat.
  8. Stir in lemon juice and zest, simmering for 1-2 minutes to meld flavors.
  9. Remove salmon from oven and immediately drizzle with the warm lemon butter sauce.
  10. Sprinkle with fresh chopped parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

Pat salmon dry before seasoning to ensure proper caramelization. Room temperature salmon cooks more evenly. Watch closely in the last few minutes as honey can burn. For a spicy kick, add red pepper flakes to the glaze. Swap soy sauce for tamari to make it gluten-free.
