A quick and easy recipe for crispy, tender sweet potato cubes seasoned with cinnamon, perfect as a healthy snack or side dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 medium sweet potatoes, scrubbed clean and cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (or avocado oil)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • Optional: ½ teaspoon brown sugar or maple syrup

Instructions

  1. Wash 2 medium sweet potatoes thoroughly to remove any dirt. Pat dry with a kitchen towel.
  2. Chop the sweet potatoes into roughly 1-inch cubes, keeping pieces as uniform as possible.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the sweet potato cubes with 1 tablespoon olive oil, 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, ½ teaspoon salt, and optional ½ teaspoon brown sugar or maple syrup. Toss until well coated.
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 3 minutes.
  5. Spread the sweet potato cubes in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Avoid overcrowding; cook in batches if necessary.
  6. Air fry for 12-15 minutes, shaking or tossing the cubes halfway through cooking (around 7 minutes) to ensure even browning.
  7. Remove the cubes carefully once golden brown and tender. Adjust seasoning if needed and serve warm.

Notes

Use Ceylon cinnamon for a lighter, more delicate flavor. Dry sweet potatoes well after washing to ensure crispiness. Shake cubes halfway through cooking for even browning. Avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket. Leftovers can be reheated in the air fryer at 350°F for 5 minutes to restore crispiness.
