Instructions

  1. Rinse and prepare the fruit: Gently wash strawberries, blueberries, and white grapes under cold water. Hull and halve the strawberries, and peel white grapes if the skins are thick or waxy. This step should take about 10 minutes.
  2. Make the honey yogurt dip: In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup (240 ml) of plain Greek yogurt with 2 tablespoons (30 ml) of raw honey, ½ teaspoon (2.5 ml) pure vanilla extract, and a teaspoon of fresh lemon zest if using. Whisk until smooth and creamy. Taste and adjust honey if you want it sweeter. This takes about 5 minutes.
  3. Assemble the skewers: Thread the berries onto each skewer in a repeating pattern: one strawberry half (red), one white grape (white), and a few blueberries (blue). Repeat until the skewer is full, usually 3-4 sets depending on length. This part is fun and takes about 10 minutes.
  4. Arrange for serving: Lay the berry skewers on a large platter, spacing them evenly. Place the honey yogurt dip in a small bowl in the center or on the side for dipping.
  5. Final touches: If you like, sprinkle a few extra lemon zest shreds over the dip for color and aroma. Chill for 10 minutes before serving if you want it cool and refreshing.

Notes

Pat berries dry before skewering to avoid soggy results. Do not overload skewers to prevent them from being heavy and hard to handle. For vegan option, substitute Greek yogurt with coconut or almond yogurt and honey with maple syrup or agave nectar. Fresh berries are preferred over frozen for best texture.
