A quick, festive, and stress-free Halloween snack that combines buttered popcorn and candy corn. This simple mix comes together in under 10 minutes with no baking required.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 to 10 cups popped popcorn (lightly salted preferred)
  • 10-ounce bag candy corn
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • Orange food coloring (optional, a few drops)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the popcorn: Ensure 8 to 10 cups of popped popcorn are completely cooled to prevent melting the candy corn. Remove any unpopped kernels.
  2. Melt the butter: Heat 2 tablespoons of butter in a microwave-safe bowl in 15-second intervals, stirring between each, until fully melted but not browned.
  3. Combine base ingredients: Pour the cooled popcorn into a large mixing bowl. Add the melted butter and gently toss with a spatula until lightly coated.
  4. Add the candy corn: Pour the entire bag of candy corn into the bowl. Gently fold the candy corn into the popcorn, being careful not to crush the pieces.
  5. Final toss and serve: Give the mixture one last gentle mix. If using, add orange food coloring and mix quickly. Transfer to a serving dish.

Notes

Ensure popcorn is completely cool before mixing to prevent candy corn from becoming sticky. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two days. For a dairy-free version, substitute butter with coconut oil or plant-based butter.
