Make your own Starbucks-inspired pumpkin cream cold foam at home in under 5 minutes with simple ingredients. This easy copycat recipe saves money and delivers that silky, spiced foam on top of your favorite coffee.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon milk (whole milk or 2%)
  • 1 tablespoon pumpkin puree (100% pure, not pie filling)
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 12 teaspoons maple syrup (or sweetener of choice)
  • 1 tiny pinch salt
  • Your favorite coffee (cold brew, iced coffee, hot coffee, or espresso)

Instructions

  1. Brew your coffee first. Pour it into your glass and let it sit while you make the foam. If using iced coffee, fill your glass with ice first, then pour the coffee over it.
  2. In a small bowl or your frother cup, combine 2 tablespoons heavy cream, 1 tablespoon milk, 1 tablespoon pumpkin puree, 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract, 1/4 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice, 1-2 teaspoons maple syrup, and a tiny pinch of salt.
  3. Froth or blend: If using a handheld frother, submerge the whisk and turn it on. Move it up and down gently for 20-30 seconds until thick and doubled in volume. If using a blender, blend on low for 15-20 seconds. Do not over-blend.
  4. Check the texture: The foam should be thick and creamy, like soft whipped cream. It should slowly fall off a spoon. If too thin, froth longer; if too thick, add a tiny splash of milk and stir gently.
  5. Pour the foam over your coffee: Use a spoon to gently layer the foam on top. Do not stir it in. The foam will slowly sink and swirl into the coffee as you drink.
  6. Optional: Sprinkle a tiny bit of extra pumpkin pie spice or cinnamon on top for garnish.

Notes

Use cold ingredients straight from the fridge for best frothing. Do not over-froth or the cream may separate into butter. Adjust sweetness to taste. For a dairy-free version, use full-fat canned coconut cream and oat milk. For a sugar-free version, use monk fruit or stevia. The foam is best fresh but can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 days; re-froth before using.
