Crispy Witchs Finger Pretzel Rods - featured image

A quick and spooky Halloween treat made by dipping pretzel rods in colored chocolate and adding almond slivers for nails. Perfect for parties and last-minute snacks.

Ingredients

  • Long pretzel rods
  • Semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips
  • Slivered or blanched almonds
  • Red or green gel food coloring
  • White chocolate (optional, for blood drip effect)
  • Red gel food coloring (optional, for blood drip effect)

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  2. Melt chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth.
  3. Stir in gel food coloring if desired for green or purple fingers.
  4. Dip about three-quarters of each pretzel rod into the melted chocolate, letting excess drip off.
  5. Place dipped pretzels on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. While chocolate is wet, press one or two almond slivers into the end of each pretzel to resemble nails.
  7. Optional: Melt white chocolate, mix with red gel, and use a toothpick to drag a ‘blood drip’ line down the side.
  8. Refrigerate for 10-15 minutes until chocolate is completely set.
  9. Serve at room temperature.

Notes

Ensure all utensils and bowls are completely dry to prevent chocolate from seizing. Work in small batches to keep chocolate fluid. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. Avoid long refrigeration to prevent condensation and sogginess.
