A quick and festive Halloween snack made by wrapping mini hot dogs in crescent roll dough and adding pretzel stick eyes. These crispy treats are perfect for parties, easy to make with kids, and ready in under 25 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cans (13.8 oz each) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1 package (12-16 count) mini hot dogs (beef or turkey)
  • 1 small box hard pretzel sticks (broken into small pieces for eyes)
  • 1 large egg beaten with 1 tablespoon water (for egg wash)
  • Everything bagel seasoning or sesame seeds (optional, for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.
  3. Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate into triangles.
  4. Place one mini hot dog at the wide end of a dough triangle and roll it up tightly toward the point, leaving the top exposed.
  5. Break pretzel sticks into small pieces and press two pieces onto the top of each wrapped hot dog to create eyes.
  6. Beat the egg with water and brush the top of each mummy generously with the egg wash.
  7. Sprinkle with optional seasoning if desired.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and puffy.
  9. Remove from oven and let cool on the baking sheet for 2 minutes before serving.

Notes

Ensure the dough is at room temperature for easier handling. Roll the dough tightly to prevent the hot dog from slipping out. Do not overcrowd the baking sheet to ensure even baking and crispiness. For a gluten-free option, use gluten-free crescent roll dough. To reheat leftovers, bake at 350°F for 5-7 minutes to restore crispiness; avoid microwaving.
