A quick and easy recipe for crispy, sweet baby carrots glazed with honey and cooked to perfection in an air fryer. Perfect as a delicious side dish for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound baby carrots (450 grams), fresh and peeled
  • 2 tablespoons honey (raw or organic recommended)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (extra virgin preferred)
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (sea salt preferred)
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C), about 3-5 minutes.
  2. Rinse and pat dry the baby carrots. If using larger carrots, slice them lengthwise into 3-inch sticks.
  3. In a medium mixing bowl, combine honey, olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir until fully blended.
  4. Add the carrots to the bowl and toss well to coat evenly with the honey glaze.
  5. Place the glazed carrots in a single layer inside the air fryer basket. Avoid overcrowding; cook in batches if necessary.
  6. Cook for 15 minutes at 400°F (200°C), flipping the carrots halfway through (around 7 minutes) using tongs.
  7. Check for doneness; carrots should be tender inside and crispy outside. Add 2-3 extra minutes if more caramelization is desired, watching closely to avoid burning.
  8. Once cooked, drizzle lemon juice over the carrots (optional).
  9. Serve warm immediately for best crispness.

Notes

Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket to ensure crispiness. Flip carrots halfway through cooking for even caramelization. Warm thick honey slightly before mixing for better glaze. Leftovers can be reheated in the air fryer at 350°F for 3-4 minutes to regain crispness.
