  • Optional seasonings: chili powder, smoked paprika, garlic powder, lime zest

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C) and let it warm up for about 3 minutes.
  2. Stack the tortillas and cut each into 6 to 8 triangular pieces using a sharp knife or pizza cutter.
  3. Place the tortilla pieces in a large mixing bowl. Drizzle 1 to 2 tablespoons of oil over them. Toss or use a pastry brush to coat evenly.
  4. Sprinkle with 1 teaspoon salt and any optional seasonings like smoked paprika or chili powder. Toss again to combine.
  5. Place tortilla pieces in a single layer inside the air fryer basket. Avoid overlapping to ensure even crisping.
  6. Air fry at 350°F (175°C) for 6 to 8 minutes. Halfway through, shake the basket or flip chips to promote even cooking.
  7. Check for crispness; chips should be golden brown and crisp. If needed, add 1-2 more minutes, checking every 30 seconds.
  8. Transfer chips to a wire rack or paper towel-lined plate to cool and avoid sogginess. Serve immediately or store once completely cooled.

Use a light hand when applying oil to avoid soggy chips. Cook chips in a single layer for best crispness. Shake or flip chips halfway through cooking to ensure even crisping. Store chips in an airtight container once completely cooled to maintain crispness. Reheat in air fryer at 300°F for 1-2 minutes to refresh.
