This recipe delivers tender, juicy lamb chops with a crispy herb crust using an air fryer for a quick, elegant, and hassle-free meal. Perfect for busy weeknights or entertaining guests with restaurant-quality flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 46 bone-in lamb chops, 1 to 1.5 inches thick
  • 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, finely chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • ½ cup panko breadcrumbs
  • ¼ cup Parmesan cheese, grated (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt, to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine rosemary, thyme, garlic, panko breadcrumbs, Parmesan, lemon zest, and olive oil. Mix until evenly coated and fragrant.
  2. Pat lamb chops dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with salt and black pepper. Let rest at room temperature for 10 minutes.
  3. Press the herb crust mixture firmly onto one side of each lamb chop.
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 5 minutes.
  5. Place lamb chops in the air fryer basket crust side up without overlapping. Air fry for 10 minutes, flipping gently halfway through.
  6. Remove lamb chops and let rest for 5 minutes tented with foil before serving.

Notes

Pat lamb chops dry before seasoning to ensure crispiness. Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket. Use fresh herbs for best flavor or reduce dried herbs to one-third the amount. Rest lamb chops after cooking to retain juices. Adjust cooking time for thicker or thinner chops. For gluten-free crust, substitute panko with crushed almonds or gluten-free breadcrumbs. For dairy-free, omit Parmesan or replace with nutritional yeast.
