A simple, no-bake Halloween dessert featuring layers of chocolate cookie crumbs, vanilla pudding, and tangy cream cheese frosting, topped with gummy worms for a spooky effect.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 24–30 chocolate sandwich cookies (like Oreos)
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 (3.4 oz) box instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 2 cups cold whole milk
  • 1 (8 oz) package full-fat cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream or half-and-half
  • Gummy worms for decoration
  • Optional: Mini chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Crush the chocolate sandwich cookies into fine crumbs with some small chunks remaining, resembling moist soil.
  2. Pour the melted butter over the cookie crumbs and mix until evenly coated and resembling wet sand.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk the instant vanilla pudding mix and cold milk vigorously for 2 minutes until thickened.
  4. In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and heavy cream with an electric mixer until smooth and fluffy.
  5. Assemble the cups by adding a layer of cookie crumbs at the bottom.
  6. Spoon a layer of vanilla pudding over the crumbs.
  7. Add a layer of the cream cheese mixture over the pudding.
  8. Top with another layer of cookie crumbs to cover the cream cheese.
  9. Decorate with gummy worms by sticking them into the top layer of crumbs.
  10. Chill in the refrigerator for 15-20 minutes before serving to allow flavors to meld.

Notes

Ensure cream cheese is fully softened to avoid lumps. Do not crush cookies into dust; keep some texture for a realistic ‘dirt’ look. Store in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours; do not freeze as the texture may separate.
