A quick and easy creamy whipped feta dip featuring roasted red peppers and Kalamata olives, perfect for snacking or entertaining with a Mediterranean twist.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz (225 g) block feta cheese
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) roasted red peppers, drained and roughly chopped
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) Kalamata olives, pitted and halved
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) full-fat Greek yogurt (optional but recommended)
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) extra virgin olive oil, plus extra for drizzling
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) fresh lemon juice
  • 1 small clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) fresh dill or parsley, finely chopped (optional)
  • Freshly cracked black pepper, to taste
  • Sea salt, optional and sparingly

Instructions

  1. Prepare Ingredients (5 minutes): Drain the roasted red peppers well to avoid watery dip. Pit and halve the olives if needed. Mince the garlic and finely chop the fresh herbs.
  2. Whip the Feta (3-4 minutes): Crumble the feta into the food processor. Add the Greek yogurt, lemon juice, garlic, and 2 tablespoons olive oil. Pulse and then blend until smooth and fluffy. Scrape down the sides as needed.
  3. Fold in Roasted Peppers & Olives (1-2 minutes): Transfer whipped feta to a bowl. Gently fold in the chopped roasted red peppers, Kalamata olives, and herbs. Taste and add freshly cracked black pepper. Salt only if absolutely necessary.
  4. Adjust Consistency (optional): If you want a thinner dip, add a little more olive oil or a splash of water. For more tang, add a squeeze more lemon juice.
  5. Chill Before Serving (30 minutes recommended): Let the dip rest in the fridge to help flavors meld and deepen the taste. It can be served immediately if desired.

Notes

Drain roasted red peppers thoroughly to avoid watery dip. Use full-fat Greek yogurt for creaminess. Avoid over-blending to prevent grainy texture. Taste before adding salt as feta and olives are salty. Fresh herbs brighten the flavor. Can be made vegan by substituting plant-based feta and yogurt alternatives.
